About This Section
| Entrez Gene summary for PARP15: PARP15 is a macrodomain-containing transcriptional repressor with poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase activity (Aguiar et al.,2005 (PubMed 16061477)).(supplied by OMIM) UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: PAR15_HUMAN, Q460N3Function: Transcriptional repressor. Has ADP-ribosyltransferase activity
summary
for PARP15: Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) catalyzes the post-translational modification of proteins by the addition of multiple ADP-ribose moieties. PARP transfers ADP-ribose from nicotinamide dinucleotide (NAD) to glu/asp residues on the substrate protein, and also polymerizes ADP-ribose to form long/branched chain polymers. PARP inhibitors are being developed for use in a number of pathologies including cancer, diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular disease.
